Operations Support

Advantage is seeking an entry-level employee for our Operations Department which processes all client trading activity. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn all aspects of FCM operations and aid our clients.

Position Summary:

This position involves monitoring client trading activity to identify and correct issues as they arise. Operations processes manual futures and options claims and allocations and monitors automated claims and allocations. Early shift tasks include reconciliations with overseas brokerage accounts, cleared exchange balancing, and client notification of account events involving market risk. The end-of-day team monitors execution claims, performs client and exchange side check-out procedures, and ensures proper option exercises/assignments, among other tasks.

Job Requirements:

  • Identify and report discrepancies between exchange (or carrying broker) records and Advantage bookkeeping.
  • Identify and report unclaimed executions.
  • Assist clients and the Risk or Accounting Departments in identifying and correcting any trade processing issues.
  • Work to automate and streamline operational tasks.
  • Gain proficiency with processing system and assume increased daily responsibilities.

Experience, Education, Competencies & Attributes:

  • No industry experience required.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Diligent, hard-working, tenacious.
  • Creative problem-solving.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • 4-year college degree or equivalent military or occupational experience.
  • Excel and SQL skills a plus.
